Dear Prof. Williams,
It is our pleasure to have you come to visit our
organization. I hope you had a good time during your stay in Taiwan.
We are honored to be elected as a council member of
the World Medical Association this year. We are hoping that we can
play a more active role in the events of the World Medical
Association. Thank you for authorizing Taiwan Medical Association's
request to translate your great work of the Medical Ethics Manual into
Chinese version. I am sure this book will be very helpful for
physicians around the world.
I hope that you will have the chance to come to
visit Taiwan again and we can discuss more about the upswing of ethic
issues we are facing in healthcare industry nowadays.
Sincerely yours,
Nan-Her Wu
President
Taiwan Medical Association

Subject: My Visit to Taiwan
Dear Dr. Wu,
I have just returned from my visit to Taiwan to speak at two
conferences and meet with representatives of the Taiwan Medical
Association, including Dr. Yung Tung Wu and Dr. Tony Jian and
members of his staff. In addition to discussions about medical
ethics, which is my specialty, we had some very interesting and, I
hope, fruitful exchanges about the status and role of the Taiwan
Medical Association within the World Medical Association.
I want to thank you personally for the beautiful necktie that was
presented to me as a gift from you. I shall wear it with pride.
It was an honour and privilege for me to visit Taiwan on behalf of
the WMA. I thank the Taiwan Medical Association for this opportunity
and I look forward to close cooperation with the Association in the
future.
With all best wishes,
John R. Williams, Ph.D.
Director of Ethics
World Medical Association
